Merino wool sweaters
« on: December 04, 2012, 09:44:53 PM »
So while I was at Costco tonight, I was admiring the 100% merino wool sweater for $24.99.  They have a quarter zip neck, and seem like they'd work real well for layering as part of your hunting clothes.  Told my wife what I was thinking and her look was not one of approval, made me laugh.

I love how that works!  If we said we were thinking about it for a family dinner, "Oh sure honey, throw it in".  Minute the word hunting comes out, we're in the dog house!  :chuckle:

I drop those types of hints.  I typically get the roll eyes look.  So I got the message, and i just return a few days later and buy it for myself.

Win - win!!   :chuckle:

My wife hasn't quite learned yet. She runs me through the why, how much, how good a deal is it game. If I want it I know how to answer all those questions to get it.  :chuckle: Hopefully my luck continues forever.

If it looked like it was good work, (do you remember the brand?) those 1/4 zips can run well over 6 times that price.

Those sweaters are awesome. Pretty much all I wear for layering anymore is 100% Merino wool baselayers and sweaters. They breath and insulate way better then any synthetic or poly shirt.

I never get questioned about anything. Of course, we're broke though. :chuckle: :chuckle:

My wife is pretty good about this, but she does point out that "another Box arrived today."  Just like Christmas, all year long.

My buddy's would keep it for themselves.
Mine get shipped to my office.

If I remember correctly, they were Kirkland Signature.  Seemed like a real decent sweater for the price.  I looked through every stack and can assure you that there were no Max 1 or Mt. Mimicry patterns available, all solid colors, but lots of color choices.

Thanks for the heads up.  I picked up one yesterday.  There was a tag with the Kirkland tag which showed where the wool came from.

Really good price!
