Anyone Get an Elk Yet?
« on: September 09, 2008, 10:44:22 AM »
Well its the second day of Archery season, has anyone seen or heard of any elk being taken yet? Observatory area in particular.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Man.... I had the Observatory permit last year.It was terrible unitil the weather changed.I personally would not bother with this hot weather.Hold off till the last week and pray for a break in the hot weather.I did not see a elk in 8 days.I went last 4 when we had rain, hail and sleet and we called in a couple 6x6's and spooked up a 5x5 on the last day trying to stalk a spike.Still did not shoot one.I was happy to just see elk at that point  thou.........

The 24th of October needs to get here quick I'm going crazy thinking about it. I'm going over the night of the 24th after I get done coaching a football game. 9 days of hunting... :IBCOOL: I have big bulls in my dreams. Its nice that week is a bi week for our football team. Plus I'm only the assistant coach. We won our first game!!!

Curlew, 8 man ball, we get close to Moses lake. I had to take a player to the hospital there one time when he got hurt playing ACH. We got a new head coach this year thats really good, 21 years head experiance, and a couple times to state. Our team is made of mostly 9th and 10th graders with no Jr. high program so we have had alot of building to do.  :chuckle: One of our players stopped last week when he was on his way in for a touch down when the 1/2 time buzzer went off. The other team rocked him. Over all a great game. We won.

He must consider you a true friend!!! You only ask those you really rely on with such a heavy job!
One less bull in the Mashel unit! My bro tanked him at 40 then got another stick in him at 15, finally found him in the nasty stuff late at night with the lanterns and flashlights. Nice 5x5 to go next to last years 5x7!
