I was thinking along the lines of Wise old owl.   I think the goddess of hunting, her symbol was an owl.   Thats Greece though.

gates are not the way to go! Look at western washington the roads are gated off and the natives get keys!!!! Do u think it will be any different on the east side????
No offense Jess but you are miss informed. If you know of indians that have keys to those gates they didn't get them officially.

I read on this site last year about the Quinalts having keys to gated areas over on the Oly Pen and the hunters were frustrated about hiking and biking in and getting the elk shot out from under them by the natives driving in and shooting the elk with rifles.  Don't know how credible the story was?  :dunno:
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

THis isn't unique to any race or religion.(keys to locked gates)......   Guys that work for the DNR use their rigs to do the same thing, and we are paying for their gas.  Same as elk feeders picking up sheds.  They are WDFW employees for goodness sakes.   I see the abuse of keys all the time, especailly in the Methow.   Same with forest service guys and loggers.   I believe it would easily be enforceable though, especially if you closed the area off to motorized vehicles.   HELL, why need a gate.  I am simple enough not to go beyond a sign in the road, yet I have fear of being prosecuted.

Agreed on the gating and the closing of the roads to motorized traffic.

And this is a serious question: what's the next step? Who do we need to contact, as a group or as individuals, and with what information or proposal? I'll donate my time to do what is needed.

And those of you who are up there, please take pictures of these pukes with piles of bucks in their vehicles. Send them to the media in Yakima, in Wenatchee, Spokane, Seattle. That's really the only way to get the word out. The media will contact the tribe, like they did with probably the same pukes killing elk in the Nile feed lot a couple of years ago. Who knows if the one instance of getting called out in the news media did anything, but if it keeps coming out, who knows.

Something has to be done. I don't know of any way to do anything, other than taking pictures, but I'll hop on if anybody else has an avenue to pursue.

The pukes are white poachers as well.

100% they are. Poachers are poachers, regardless of skin color. Guess I didn't make that clear.

And I call a spade a spade, even if the spade wants to be called by some other name that will offend him less.

Time, have you contributed one intelligent thought or question to this now 23 page thread? I mean, I don't want to name call; just asking a question.
