It was a fair question, Time, considering your statement.

I view what these Indians, these "protectors of mother earth" are doing as completely parasitic, wasteful, selfish and very very short sighted.  I mean come on guys, pull your stinking heads out.  Don't you realize if you take it easy up there, and limit yourselves to maybe 1 buck instead of a truck load, yours and my children will benefit.  What, do you want this to look like the Colockum elk herd in a few years ?

Think !  Think !  Think !  Wouldn't it be better if all of us benefited for now and the future?  Think about it.  And also, I know this is a relatively small group that is giving all  of you a bad name.  How about some of you tribe members that are also members of this Forum try to use your influence and talk some sense into these guys?

It is a very small percentage that is doing this and it's like talking to some of the guys on here.  They don't want to here what's being said no matter how many times you say it, their mind is made up regardless.  I know I've tried to speak with some and the message never got off the ground.  I'm doing what I can with what I get and hopefully something can be done to stop the abuse and overharvesting before it's to late.

Your right Plat, most of us already have are minds made up, and probably always will  :chuckle:

Name calling and threats are not going to help either side guys. Its not the entire tribe that is causing the problem, I would imagine it's a small group at the most. It's in the tribes best interest to come up with a solution as well, why not work together to come up with something?

If its such a small percentage and you know of the tribal members abusing their rights. Then how come the tribe hasnt gone after these guys???

At this point htey don't have any legal ramifications to do so.   Same reason Clinton could go on Monicas dress.  It may be a black eye to the tribe, but really nothing can be done about it.  Right?

They can change regulations but then that is taking away freedoms and rights they have.  You know how well we respond to that.

I agree with the last few post saying how there is just a small percent of the tribe that are doing this kind of stuff that most of us don't like.  And I agree with Plat that he and I am sure others try to talk to the ones that are doing this stuff and it doesn't work.  Because just like Plat and others on here tell us "the treaties and their laws allow it". So if it is true that most of the tribe isn't into this kind of hunting/killing/wasting, then why doesn't the tribe set hunting rules for their tribes.  They have a fish&game department within the tribe that sets the rules for the tribe.  Why don't they set rules that would end this stuff and be able to go after people that break those rules???

As I have reiterated time and time again, our Leaders do not know everybody or everything as a lot of people on here would like to think.  they want credible proof/evidence/witnesses that things like this is being done not just by our own Tribesmen but, others as well.  Just saying this happened and that happened because you heard isn't credible.  I've been told time and time again if I don't find credible anything then in their eyes it's not happening so why worry about it.

Then who in the tribe regulates tribal hunting? If this makes the whole tribe look bad I would think they would nip it in the butt. Unless its more than just a select few like I'm sure it is.
