yep hickory. Was recommended for seasoning the smoker and I had extra so smoke :tup: the meat with it.  Came out good the wife and kids loved it

I love the color the hickory puts out. I love to smoke stuff as well, playing with cheese currently. Trying some Pepperjack tomorrow. I am thinking doing some with apple and some with hickory...

That's a nice chunk of smoke meat....good job...and yeah the color looks fantastic.
