here is what ya got to look forward to..

Yup, that is pretty accurate.  This photo shows 30 yards (??) of visibility, which is on the good side.  The steepness and thickness gets much worse than this.  There is a LOT of open space like the second photo, up on the ridges, but you shouldn't expect to spend much time up there during the general season hunt; sorry, it isn't that simple.  Get back down in the thickets, if you want to fill your tag.

What would be a good choice for modern riffle?

I have heard good tings about the SE corner of the state also, but not sure about the area there.

Wish my brother would have stayied in Pocatello. Really I do......

That is normal man.  I had nice bulls all summer on my trail cam, come archery season they disappeared!! They came back later in the season and then October they were gone again.  Talking with old timers up there the big bulls separate from the herd and head up high to rest until the snow pushes them down lower.  Makes sense to me cause we saw the herds, and only spikes and rags were with the cows.  I'm gonna expand my search area this year and did out where these boys go to rest up!

The thing is it was during archery season and I was doing rifle.  I had 4 bulls on cam during shooting hours and would of been about a 20 yard shot. They were there dang near everday tell the day before rifle opened.  Most likly I will be doing archery this year and then this won't happen.  I also had wolves on cam same area during daylight..

honestly i wouldnt have "just one" place..with the wolves your gona want at least 5 different spots..you wana stay ahead of the wolfs...which means having a Mobile camp an covering a huge area..if you try hunting an area where there was heavy wolf pressure the year before the hunting could be pretty slow...idaho is not easy..my cuzzin actualy likes the hunting better in wa lol

an if you can i would archery hunt it
