full clip?

  will it damage a clip if it is left completely full over long periods of time.  i am refering to the spring which will be compressed.    thank you,  mike w

there are lots of opinions on this subject.  I only leave my clip loaded for 30 days.  then I unload and cycle another clip into the rotation.
It is what you meant it to be...

Clips don’t typically have springs, magazines have springs.

There have been many companies that have done trials on this.  never seen any that say it will fatigue the springs.  the way i look at it, how long does your car sit on it's springs???  I have ar mags that stay loaded all the time with no problems.

We used to keep all of the Military Police ammo in the mags for extended periods of time, never had a problem with M-16/4 Mags having a problem or the M-9 mags.  And were talking ammo supply for a couple hundred folks.  Every now and then it would be cycled to ensure a pencil or something wasn't exchanged for a bullet...lol

I keep all my mags full on my stuff and never had a cycle problem either, but the cheap plastic .22 types mags, not sure about.

I use "Clips" in my five year old daughters hair. I keep my "Magazine's" gassed up and ready to go. :tup:

I have a high standard that has spent at least 25 years loaded.....still going fine.
