I have a friend that took his son and they got a few birds. I told him to go out in the Wenas and get some of the released pheasants. Do any of you know about the released pheasants? I was wondering if the released them yet.

Yep they released pheasants for youth weekend at most of the normal release sites.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!

Took my 11 yr old and 9 old boys out for the youth pheasant opener Saturday morning.  They both got their limit within the first hour and were totally ecstatic!!  They were using single shot 20 gauges and backed each other up.  If the first one missed, the second one took the shot.

Took 'em out for ducks that afternoon and not many were flying in the rain.  We set up the dekes and began calling to a few.  One came in and they both got shots, but missed.  No more shots after that, but we were only set up for about 2 hrs.

Sunday morning, took 'em back out for pheasants again.  Although it didn't seem that they released birds again, there were enough left overs from the day before that after 2 1/2 hrs, they had 3 birds total between the two of them.

Overall a VERY successful weekend and going back to school today was tough for them!  Hope to be a good year.  They can't wait for the main deer opener in a couple weeks, looking for their first deer.
