Traded this set to a Hunt-Wa member for a fixer dirt bike...

ShedStud sent me the antler to work with, every piece (except the Wenge Cougar whistle) is made from his antler.

Nice work Rainshadow.  I see the pin in the handle, is that the only way you secure them ?  I made one 30 years ago, and its still in one piece.

Nwtf, there's the pin, and the multi-perforated hidden tang is 3" into the antler and set in solid epoxy. It isn't going anywhere!

I was wondering if you used epoxy....  Have you heard of or ever tried the old fashioned way ?

I may or may not know what you mean by the "old fashioned way," but I don't know that I could build my bolsters (this one is G10 carbon/red carbon/G10 carbon/Walrus Ivory) and press and pin under pressure like I do with the method I think you're referring to... so I'm happy with new fangled!
