Does Smossy have the same legal address?

No we don't "live" together. Nothing on record connects us.

That was my thought.  The quotations make it even more suspicious.

Mine got messed up awhile back. It was nothing Cabelas did. The issue was with whoever was processing the the NICS check. They had superimposed two numbers so it was messed up. We made some phone calls to them and it was straitened out. I know you do the electronic version of the 4473 and that should be easy to transfer, but where ever they do the NCIS checks at, they have to enter the SSN by hand, and where a human interacts, there is going to be errors.

I figured it was implied that as my long-term boyfriend I'd spend a majority of my time with him or at his house, hence the quotes. I STAY with him often, I guess that would me more appropriate wording? My residence/majority of my things/my license/mail/everything - Roy, him Spanaway. I didn't intend for it to be suspicious.

Oh for sure I didn't mean to say Cabela's was wrong, I'm frustrated in general that it happened. I am going to try to call tomorrow the number the gentleman gave me, and then wait on the CPL results like huntnphool said, and maybe in the meantime take it as a good thing and find it cheaper possible.

If the two of you arent linked on paper then I dont know what it could be.  If you havent already, I would start the process of getting your CPL.  Other than the obvoius of being allowed to conceal carry it will alleviate the chance this will happen again.

I did already, it was just after the gun. The man said it could be my security clearance that's causing it and that seems weird to me but good ole' google says it happens and no one has an answer though.  :dunno:  I was just instantly disheartened.

Having a security clearance would not do anything to help or hurt purchasing a gun. It can be many things, spelled your name wrong, Moved lately and not updated. But I do thank you as reading this made me remember my CCP expires on April 12th

I have never been denied but I did get delayed all the time. And when I dug into why I found out it was because of a security clearance. Apparently a FBI background check raise red flags cause it doesn't show why you were investigated. You should get paperwork to apply for the voluntary appeal file. Cause unfortunately getting a conceal permit will not necessarily make this problem go away. I still got delayed after getting my permit. Once I got a appeal file number no more problems.

I'd wait until you get the permit results. If you don't get it then there is a bigger issue. If you do get it then I would go down and buy it over the counter.

You may check out Federal Way Discount too, they will be cheaper for the same gun. :twocents:

The CPL only allows you to walk out with the gun same day if the NICs check gets an approve.

You need to contact the local office Pierce County they are the ones that denied it.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

Odd because I have held 1 all the way back to working on the B-2 stealth when it was a "black" program. I have never been denied or put on hold I wonder what the difference is?

Mkcj, maybe the timing of the security clearance?  Yours may go back a lot longer than hers so the FBI doesn't show as a recent investigation is my guess.

Generally if not always, a high security clearance will cause a delay, I have even sold several guns to police and state patrol empoyees who get delayed........ boy do they get pissed sometimes.

The system is not fool proof, it is after all ran by the federal government. I have a friend that was denied a long gun several years ago. He went back the next day and was approved. Same store, same paperwork, same background check.
I will hunt everywhere before I die

I don't know why, but I was denied everytime I put my ssn on the paperwork cause it linked my background check. I finally figured out that if I didn't put the ssn I was almost always a proceed. But I got the VAF just in case.
