Did you call Pierce County LESA and ask them why?

There is no direct line to talk to anyone... it is just automated information and it's ALL about the CPL, I listened through it twice. They are also now called "South Sound 911".

I would send an email to the Department of Licensing and ask them. Everything on their site states to go check with local law enforcement. Here is the link for the concealed pistol licence. http://www.dol.wa.gov/business/firearms/faconceal.html

Any chance you can go to the sheriff's office physically?

Have you tried submitting the "contact us" form, requesting a call to discuss?

I e-mailed the LESA/South Sound 911 "contact us" form. I did ask how to proceed, how to get information, and if I could talk to anyone. Everything is set up for a denied CPL that it seems impossible to find information on just a denied purchase. Firefighter - I am sending an e-mail to that link as well, thank you. I only just got the call yesterday and it was after 4pm (LESA office closes then) so no I didn't go anywhere yet, I get off work today somewhat early so I might just head there :)

If you know anybody with FFL, or in law enforcement, or go to a store and tell them you are interested in a shotgun or rifle and ask them to run NICS you can find out if the snag is local or federal at least.  I am still betting it is a local thing.

I have a clearance for work.  Never had an issue with getting my cpl but almost always have a delay on handgun purchases.  Never have looked into it, one salesman told me it may be because I was born over seas.  But again that would be at the federal level, not county.  Good luck with getting your issue resolved and congrats to your boy for turning his life around.  Hope the two of you have continued success

You have to initiate renewals for clearances, so that's not it.

This is an interesting thread. My friend and I bought rifles last year and had them sent to a FFL. I went in and picked mine up and he was denied for a week. He's squikey clean. Could have been a name - or evidently anything!

Smossy-girl, why don't you post on here what firearm you're looking for?  I bet you'll have one within a week!   :chuckle:

Big difference in "Delayed" and "Denied" I hope she gets it worked out, but if it stays "Denied" and someone sells her a gun, that is a straw purchase.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

Well, evidently I didn't phrase that correctly.

Smossys-girl commented it took her 3 months to locate this special firearm. I was suggesting if she posted what she was looking for, there would be many people on this forum on the lookout for another one.  I assumed the snafu would be cleared up by then and she would have another special firearm located.  NOT someone buying it for her!  :yike:

I knew what you meant, Carl.

I just skimmed the thread again but did she say what the pistol was?  I'm sure there are enough of us here that look at different gun boards that one can be located when the time comes.
