This year it starts on May 1st so just a heads up !! Last year it didn't start till June 1st so we lost another month of fishing offshore for lings 

And even when it is open can only keep Ling cod, Black Cod, and Pacific Cod, No rockfish or anything else

On halibut openings you can Target lingcod any depth. Just be sure to have a fish decending device to release yelloweye and canaries. WDFW will shut down rockfish if the yelloweye floaters are all over the place.
