My favorite is calling elk. Followed closely by tracking, doesnt matter the species.

I use a variation of that one, stumble and spook, stumble and spook, stumble and spook, find one that doesn't spook and biff the shot, then stumble and spook, stumble and spook, and then ambush and connect the shot.  I works about 20% of the time.

In my youth it was all bugling bulls, spot & stalk deer and belly crawling for pronghorns.  As I got older napping in a clear cut became a little more my speed.  Now sitting in a blind shooting critters I can pack out whole is starting to become much more enjoyable.  The mind would still like to chase goats up the Catalina cliffs and belly crawl 1,000 yards through cactus filled rocks for Arizona mulies, or pack a bull elk out of the Eagle Caps.  But sadly the body doesn't play those games so well anymore.   I've had to cancel my next sheep, goat and grizzly hunt because the body is just breaking down too fast.  Hopefully I can find the strength to give it one more hurrah in a few years.  But if not I think I've finally made peace with the fact stand hunting can be pretty enjoyable too.

On the ground, up close and VERY personal.  Whitetails, mulies, elk, coyotes, there is just nothing more challenging and rewarding than taking game on their own turf. Nothing against treestands, but I dont like to sit much. I spend most of my hunting season crawling around like a baby and it works for me.  I am the proverbial ''snake in the grass''

research, research, scout, scout come back to spots scouted and fail then walk around with my fingers crossed for hours and hours and hopefully get lucky it has worked so far so why stop.

Spot and stock. Nothing like getting up and close with a muley in his bed. Elk with a rifle is a gut feeling game. Elk with a bow was sit on a trail in the mornings and evenings lite calling to try and locate, but ended with a bull being spooked to me on the way to a stand. Always a good thing to have a little lady luck on your side.

Run and Gun (Bugle) the ridge tops for bulls if I have a tag. if just for cow and spike I go to areas that I know hold elk and create excitement with cow herd talk until I wack one.
