How do we know they didn't intend to put the camera back where they found it after the fire was done burning?

Well this classification of people based on which side of the state they live is something I am not a fan of. Who took your camera? Not a westsider. Isn't that the person you're angry with?

It's all western washington's fault.

 :chuckle:

Typical eastside folk, always accusing the westside folk of their problems, even when said westside folk aren't even from the westside.

 :dunno:

I'm so confused how this became a "typical westside" thing.

It's the reaction of a lot of folks in this thread that will stop the rest of the world from doing stuff to help people out. Call it what you want, but the feelings people have after some of the accusations that are flying around in this thread is the sort of thing that causes that. I guess I always considered myself the type of person that would help someone if I felt like they needed help. If that meant moving something so it wouldn't get destroyed, then that's what I would do. Knowing that I might get accused of stealing it and having my pictures posted on the web with no solid evidence to back up your accusations may stop me from helping people in the future(it probably won't stop me, but it will stop someone for sure). That is the way the world is going now, and that is truly sad.

I am a born and raised west sider and I take no offense to it because I know he is not talking about me but he is talking about most of the west siders because they are stupid Obama lovers.

So what does everyone think now that there is no burn going on.  Come on get real the guys jacked his camera then lied about it and HuntNW is 100% right if they didn't take his camera they wouldn't have their pictures on here would they!  They thought they got away with another persons camera but they were quite wrong this time! Glad you got it back.  They should be sending him a giftcard for his trouble since its pretty clear the they were not trying to save his camera, give me a break.

Is it ok next time that one of you park your truck on Public Ground if I take it home with me? It is not yours leave it if you don't it's theft!

The Forest Service employees actions here are shady at best.  Honestly sounds to me like a dude thought he found a freebie in the woods and got caught.  But that doesn't mean all FS employee's are thieves.  Just like all west-siders aren't latte sippin', leaf lickin', wolf huggin', Franken lovin', limp wristed liberals, and all east-siders aren't beer guzzlin', deer poachin', Hannity lovin', bible thumpin' room-temperature IQ rednecks (I've spent about half of my adult life in each place, so I feel qualified to make this comment).

We don't.

We also don't know if the employee intended to keep it for himself.

We do know that it was taken.

We also know that when huntnnw contacted them with a pretty good idea one of them took it, the crew boss/supervisor talked to the crew, got it back and is really trying to smooth things over.......

Bunch of old hens come to mind reading this one. LOL

Right - wrong.
East - west.
Take it - Leave it.

 :stirthepot:
Mmmm I say it's wrong to take it.  Someone from the west side would have known not to touch it. I'd left it alone and think poor sap's gonna miss his cam.

Yeah I kinda lean towards the idea that if there was no contact info then the guy was trying to score a free camera, justifying it by the fact that maybe it might get burned. without the other camera, it would have been lost thats for certain. Its pretty easy to justify ones actions in a moment of greed, later you can have second thoughts but its way to late then. guy should have left it alone, maybe next time he will. I definitly will be putting contact info with my trail camera so incase someone does decide they need to remove it they dont have any excuse for not contacting me.

For all that have made comments about the following thread:

I would like to first mention that I am one of the accused individuals who have been bashed in this thread about the Game Cam being removed from Scalawag Ridge up off of South Fork Sherman Creek.

For the most part there were very few TRUE FACTS mentioned.  The one FACT that was completely correct was the camera was removed.  Everything else mentioned was assumption with NO proven evidence against any of the individuals.  I can tell you FIRST hand who the individuals are, who actually took the camera (NONE OF THE INDIVIDUALS ON THE PICS TOOK THE CAM DOWN, NOR DID WE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL A COUPLE DAYS AGO.  I AM GLAD TO KNOW THAT WE ARE COMPLETELY GUILTY SINCE OUR PICS ARE ON THE OTHER CAM THOUGH), and that no intended harm was meant to come from this act of HUMAN KINDNESS.

A few things I have taken from this thread:  I have learned from reading this that many people out there would like folks to let their property be ruined instead of saved, point taken.  It was funny to watch this thread switch to an Eastside/Westside discussion and also a govt bashing discussion as well.

Thanks for taking MOST of the pics down and would appreciate the last few taken down as well.  Also appreciate the pics of the cat since I will be spending time up there prepping for the future burn.  If I see one of your cams I will make sure to leave it and even give you a smile and wave so we stay on good terms.

Food for thought to everyone – If I place a $100 bill nailed to a tree out on public lands would any of you take it down if you saw it?  I would hope not since it is not your property and you should leave it alone as stated many times in this thread about the game cam.

Appreciate the time to hopefully let folks know that all individuals in the pics had no idea about the cam, thank those of you that have stuck up for the individuals in question, and also to wish all of you good luck in getting whatever it  is you are hunting!
