So what are you holding out for?

Who are you asking?
You!!! It's the premier hunt in the state, what are you going to do with the tag?

I'm going to eat it if my whitetail shows up regularly on my trail camera. I've been after him for years. Depends on what he scores. When he fills in his frame and I get a better picture, I will post him on another thread and ask people to judge him. If he's a 180 whitey, then I will try to put him on the hook instead of a 180 muley.

180 whitetail? If he is a legit 160 class whitetail you would be nuts to pass him up for that entiat tag.

Odds are you wont see a 170 class muley on your Entiat hunt, let alone harvest a 180".

How many times have you been drawn for this hunt and hunted it again?

So you've hunted the mule deer in this unit from november 1st through the 20th with a rifle during the peak of their rut?

I also live and spend a ton of time In all the areas in central Washington......A 150 to 170 inch mule deer is very doable during the rut if you spend some time and are patient.  170+ takes a whole lot of luck along with time and patients.  They are there, but not as plentiful as most would think.

Good luck and listen to the people posting on here.  You don't have to hunt the area yearly to know what a realistic expectation is.  The quality and quantity of deer in the area is not what it was 15 years ago.   :twocents:

Sorry to :jacked: but where is Entiat?

I drew the tag.

Sorry, lame joke.

If I had a 180 class whitetail to hunt, I would happily pass on ANY special deer tag.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

JREBEL is correct. I hunted that before it went to permit. Was way better back then. Permits are low due to poaching.  Any Way I would shoot the big whitetail. There are nice bucks in there but tough country with a bow. I love the area. Good luck. learn the area.

What do you mean "with a bow"? I drew the rifle hunt.

And that's why i'm going after both of them. I don't know if my buck scores 180, but it's a monster for sure. We'll see what he looks like this year if he keeps coming into my tree stand and game camera. There are a lot of hunters on this public land, but it's also thicker than a swamp and can hide plenty of critters. I was lucky enough to draw this permit for entiat, so maybe I will be lucky enough to get him. Like I've said earlier in my posts, I will eat my tag rather than shoot something I'm not happy with.

Soooooo, seems like this hunt is just a worthless p.o.s. as far as getting a trophy animal. I also may have just burned all my preference points on it. The two best hunts (desert and entiat) turned out to be the crappiest. So now that I know this, what are the two greatest units to put in for with rifle or muzzy? I'm sure that this is debatable, but I will take a consensus from all that post their opinions.
