It's soo early I haven't even made it over there yet. Probably one of these weekends in july.I'd get over there soon if you are planning on scouting, with this weather it wouldn't surprise me if they started locking gates to avoid a repeat of last years fires.

Most Entiat roads don't have gates on them?? The forest service could definitely post the roads "do not enter" but that would be the first time I have ever seen that. You should be fine to scout throughout the summer unless there is active fire. There will be a burn ban real soon if they don't have one right now. Call the forest service before you go to see what the burn status is. Johnny
Not to thread jack, but what roads did they gate? Most of the swakane roads don't have gates either. The only gates I know of on the Swakane are on private access roads that are always gated due to the orchards / local homeowners (I personally think it is bogus).....and one that is never closed, but could be, on Derby. No gates on all the other access roads to even close?? Not wanting to start an argument...just curious what roads were gated?Johnny
Yes, they did have manned vehicles blocking a ton of roads last year when the fires were active

Argument you want...Argument you get!!! You said you wouldn't be surprised if they started "locking gate." This confused me as I know most to the roads don't even have gates on them to lock?? Trust me, they won't post paid employees on roads due to weather alone....If there is no fire the roads will be open.
