Minnkota Trolling Motor Bearing Replacement
« on: July 24, 2013, 04:49:38 PM »
I have a Minnkota Endura transom mount trolling motor and the last time I was out I noticed the motor was louder than usual and wasn't spinning as fast as it should be.  When I got it home I took apart the lower unit and it had a bunch of water in it and what looked like a bunch of mud.  The very back bearing was corroded pretty bad but everything else cleaned up pretty good and looks fine.  Has anyone ever changed out the bearing in a trolling motor?  Is it worth trying to find a replacement bearing and try to get the motor housing sealed up?  The motor is about 7 years old and ran perfectly fine up until now.
