Hi there washelkhunter, long time no hear from.

I got one for you. Today it was at the post office and we were talking about guns and ammo. Well, ORV/ATV's came up with the guy I was talking to. He lives right on the border of the Colville Nat Forest and private land. This is directly from his mouth, quote " those damn COASTIES that own property near me are always tearing up the roads, racing their motorcycles and ATVs up and down the FOREST SERVIVE roads and destroying everything around here ". end quote. He told me he even called the Sheriff on them and reported it. I said, GOOD. But you're calling the wrong people, call the Colville Nat Forest in Republic and tell the Forest Service cop come up there and get them.

See, I'm on your side too, kinda. NIMBY.

Hi ya Campmeat! Good to hear from ya, been awhile, I thought maybe you was dead.... :chuckle:  I may be up 204 way this season for deer, can I buy ya beer if I get out to republic?
[/quote]

You bet. I might take you for ride since we can ride in Republic on certain roads..

Doing my civic duty picking up garbage out of Conconully to Loomis in the 1st picture.

Me in Avery Idaho last month doing my civic duty looking for wolf sign for hunting this year. Also pre-celebrating my 25th anniversary.

My wife and I behind the house doing our civic duty looking for wolf sign.

Last picture is wolf poop behind my house I found from doing my civic duty looking for wolf poop up there.

The sewer dump isn't potable. :bash:  Curlew park could be an option.  Closer would be better.  You could darn near ride that whole distance in the utv.  Which is pretty sweet by the way.  Piggys huh?  Hmmm.

Yes, piggies. I'll ask the boss at Les Schwab I know. That's a lot closer. Beggars can't be too choosy.

Wallace is awesome, we go to the jamboree every year.  Idaho has it figured out, they realize the meaning of "multiple use" and strive for it.  Unfortunately Washington is full of whiners that either can't read or comprehend what that means.  Washington has 4.25 MILLION acres of wilderness ROADLESS areas for them to use, but it requires a little sweat and hard work, so they don't like it and want to make sure that the OHV users can't go out and enjoy their hobby in the remaining lands.  Luckily, though, the way the laws are written OHV's are perfectly LEGAL on federal land OFFROAD anywhere you want to go.

Find the repy Bigtex put on here. If I try and explain it, it won't come out right. This is what I THINK the laws mean.

This is for being and staying ON the roads, NOT going off making your own trails. That's what the greenies think we do for some stupid reason.

DNR lands are ok to RIDE on. If you park your truck with a trailer ON DNR land, you need a Discover Pass.
State lands are open riding. (?)
Private, that's a given.
County roads that have speed limits of less than 35 mph and towns or counties with less than, I think, 7,000, don't have to go by the states laws. They can make their own laws about ORV use. I THINK that's how it is. The Gov singed the bill and the state didn't have anything figured out.

I'm probably wrong on it. All I know is the Sheriff I know could careless about it from what he told me a couple weeks ago. He and all the rest of them have never written 1 ticket for any ORV infractions. It's the Forest Service cop you REALLY have to watch out for over here.

Yeah I always thought it was on designated trails only.

DNR land you have to stay on the "green dot" roads, on federal land (USFS) it is LEGAL to ride OFFROAD anywhere you want.  The forest circus throws around the term "resource damage", but when you press them on it (which I have done repeatedly) they can only produce a "working definition".  It's basically up to the ticketing officer whether or not you are doing "resource damage", but they have been challenged in court recently a few times, and have lost, so now they are very careful about ticketing for "resource damage".

There is no Sam Bissel listed on the phone list at the Naches ranger District.
