So after following the trails on the map that fort Lewis outdoor center gave me,I finally after 2 hours of taking trails that lead me to the wrong area I finally get to the clear cut I was looking for.used my call for about 30 min and saw nothing. Once again fort Lewis has set me up for failure

Bear. The seeds are probably from cascara berries.

Looks like a bear was eating plums.

I am no expert, but calling for a half hour isn't usually enough most guys on here that are better bear hunters than me say that you should call better than an hour for bears.  I hear the consistency is also very important.  There is a great bear hunting thread on the site with all kinds of useful info from guys who put bears down regularly.

Don't get discouraged. I e hunted the base for over 25 years and only seen 2 bears. If you want to see bears on the base don't buy a tag . :twocents:

I'd reccomend trying to get on HOT sign before bear calling.  This as a minimum, better to have a bear in sight before calling.

They don't come into calls quickly and you have to call constantly or they lose interest.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
