Archery kills??

Where are all the archery kills?? Is it a really slow year or what? Ive only heard of two being killed in my area GMU 530.  Making me believe that the Muzzy season is going to be a good one!

I did not see or here of many bulls be harvested out my way so it should make for a good muzzy season. I only heard one bull bugle the 5 days I was in the woods and I was able to put an arrow in him.

Well, in the campground I stay, in the unit I hunted the score card was 4 cows and 1 bull.  That was as of last Wednesday.  I only know of two of those guys that are members on here.

No. It is a Roosevelt.

Nice job pips4bucks . I would have liked to watch the fight your bull was in. I know of five other elk that were killed by locals down here. Three bulls and two cows.

No archery elk for me yet this season.  I was out hunting 12 days, almost all of which was by myself.  I tangled with some big bulls the first week and then this past week ran dry.  I got really close but couldn't get a shot on several occasions.  I was finding their rubs and such, I just zigged when they zagged apparently.  After this morning I was mentally drained and headed out about noon so I could come home to watch the Hawks game.  I'm beat but I will bounce back.

I got a spike but no real good pics.  Maybe after I get the skull fleshed and boiled.

Extremely dry and hot archery season in the Blues.

Heard very little bugling.  Were I an archery hunter, I'd consider lobbying for a later season in SE WA.  You can count it being hot and dry here through the 3rd week of September.  We tend to see the elk in the rut from then through Muzzy season in the 3,500 ft. elevation.
