National Forests closed
« on: October 02, 2013, 05:29:08 PM »
Looks like the National Forests are shut down until this spat between the powers that be is over. What a crock! It better be cleared up before Nov 1 or I'll be trespassing.

You can put the ptichforks and torches down, the National Forests are still open except for campgrounds.

If they are shutdown and there is no one employed to enforce the closure who is going to stop you from using the land? :chuckle:

Well, no. He will still have his elk tag, but yes, he already did lose his points, when he drew the permit. If there is no access to the refuge, there is a chance the WDFW could reinstate his points. Or, they may give him a different time period to hunt, if the refuge opens back up. Or they may do nothing and he's just out those points. It's hard to say.

How are they closed? It's public land owned by the public. Yeah maybe the facilities are locked but the land isn't.
