My first deer rifle has become my go-to gun for years. A Remmy 700ADL .30-06 with a Leupold 3x9, I have many more choices now but it seems like I always grab the .30-06. It's got a history of one shot kills that makes it hard to leave behind, longest shot was out pushing 500 yards and the closest was around 17.
I wanted to take my Ruger Gunsite out this year but I never found any hunting ammo for it so I guess if I go I'll have the '06 with me again this year.

Tikka T3 lite 30-06 with a Monarch on top.  Very very accurate rifle.  Trying out some Hornady superformance 150gn sst's this year.

This year is a Rugger 77 old model in .280.

Topped with a Tasco 4x12 (Japan), with a built in range finder and a quick elevation adjustment, 25 yard increments up 500 yards.  It was a B-day present from my wife when we were in Japan back in the mid 80's.

Probably going to cull that .243 out next year and move him up to the 30-06.

I'm hunting on the West side this year,, first time hunting in a long time. I'm using a Marlin 45-70 in stainless.

This year I have a new setup. Tikka t3 super lite 7mm mag, topped with a 4.5-14x44 Bushnell legend ultra hd. Shooting factory hsm ammo, 168gr berger vld's into a 3/4" group at 100yds.
I've shot the setup out to 600 yards so far and it has that boring tikka accuracy

All three rifles are our first rifles owned. I bought the Ruger last year. My sons rifle was givin to him by his grandmother. She used it to hunt when she was 9. The scope that was on it was rusted on the inside, so I replaced it. Other than that, its a very nice wood stock rifle.

Ruger American Rifle .308 with a Bushnell - 3-9x 40mm - DOA 600.

Sons is a Mossberg .243 with a 3-9x40

Girl Friends is a Remington 770 .270
