Missed Opportunity X 3

My wife was hunting the muzzleloader season this fall and we saw this buck three times and never sealed the deal.

The first time, I could see him but she couldn't at 80 yards in some brush 

The second time he was at 110 and broadside, she just didn't get set up until he busted 

The third time he ran up an old skid road, straight at our ground blind  but at 60ish yards, still running fast, he jumped into the bushes to never be seen again 

Would have been the perfect first deer for her, nice heavy body.

Next year he'll have more antler mass

At least you had some killer excitement. Better than not seeing jack!

Yep, it was exciting for sure.  I've seen him since and I know he didn't get killed in modern firearm so unless late archery hunters kill him, he'll be on the menu next September

we all have bad days   but at least you did get the chance to see him  better luck next season    liked the story
