Montana 08 (huntnphool)
« on: November 02, 2008, 04:05:43 PM »
Well I am leaving for Montana on Friday some time and can't wait to get back over there. I will be hunting a friends ranch again and dragging WF70, M-Ray and another friend kicking and screaming the whole way I'm sure :chuckle:

I have a couple other friends that I have taken over in the past that couldn't make it next week because of work but could go to hunt this week so I got them a map and marked out a couple of my honey holes ;)  for them to check out when they got there. Well they got there a couple hours ago and stopped at the first spot I had highlited and in the first hour of being there Dina dropped her second buck in two years, a nice 5X4 with brow tines.

My friend Mike will send me camera pics tonight and only had this cell phone pic at the moment.

I was going to wait to start my 08 Montana post but thought some of you might like to see a happy hunter pic, enjoy.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

Nice buck!

I have always wanted to hunt in Montana; mule deer and/or elk.
Been to NM, CO, WY but only for elk. Saw some monster muleys in WY.

I'm jealous, I have to wait until next year, if I can go at all. MRay, you will definitely *censored*e yourself when you see all the bucks running around there, Huntinphool will be lucky to get you to the ranch before you start blasting away! My first trip last year when we arrived we passed a dozen good whitetail bucks the first night in the area we were going to hunt, in hindsight I wish I'd have taken one of them because we got hit with -12 and 1' of snow the next day which made hunting very difficult for a few days. Good luck and have fun.

Dman, I would welcome snow over there, the more the better. If you guys notice she is wearing a t-shirt, Mike said it was 75* there today. :bash:

M-Ray has already been told that before he gets in the car for the drive he has to hand over all bullets. :chuckle:

Montana is a different world as far as hunting. I tagged along with my brother in law last year and was blown away at not only the quantity of animals but also the quality. I will be going back the once I figure out how to manage both washington st and Montana. Maybe one of members ( huntnphool   ) lol can help get a fellow hunter get started.  :chuckle:
