This is all new to me. I had not idea that you trapped rats. You can sell the coats just like beaver or whatever else? Are they a rat like a barn rat type? Or is this something different?

hntrspud... They are called muskrats. The live in the water like beavers and make dens in the bank. They are in almost every state "if not all".

Great start to the season Blue. Looks like you have some XXL in there. How are they looking? Any blue to them?

I trapped Muskrats when I was a kid back in Mass.  Skinning them is easy--as long as you don't nick the blood pocket under their armpits!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Alright Blue, post your totals in the Scoreboard 2013-14 thread so we can see how far we're falling behind!  :chuckle:

I averaged $18,00 for all my rats last season. I had a great bunch of rats and most were XL.

Of course it's the year I'm not trapping them.   :chuckle:

Eight more rats today. Looks like I might hit my goal by this weekend. I love it when there's a triple. It's the fourth time this year.
