Searching for Chukars and Huns
«

Going out this weekend in search of Chukars and possibly Huns. Plan was to hit the area to the north of Naches in the Wenas Lake area. Been striking out the last few years and was wondering if this area is holding any birds these days? Hit the Swakane area last year and didn't see anything or any sign? But was not able to get up very high because of the road conditions etc. Didn't see a sole up there but hikers maybe that was our big hint. Also hunted out Palisades Road and couldn't find a bird except the ones in Farmer Johns front yard?
Got ourselves all set up to hunt on the Yakima Training Center and all we got from that adventure was a long drive and a large piece of schrapnel in my buddies tire.

A buddy and I spent the last two weekends in Yakima without a bird, I was looking at going out to the Palisades until I read your thread. Good luck in the Wenas area, haven't been up there yet.
