I posted a few pic's of this Buck in the trail-cam forum a few weeks back but actually had my hopes on a bigger 5x5 that I have been chasing for the last 3 years..... So congrats to my neighbor!!

Late last night he sends me a picture of him holding that big 5x5!

He put an arrow through him yesterday!

...........I'm actually happy for him he's a good guy and it was a great buck!
I got permission from a local farmer to hunt on his ground and It wasn't long after putting the camera out that I started getting pic's of this guy. Thursday afternoon I was tempted to go sit for him but figured I would pass on hunting on thanksgiving and went and checked the camera instead! Well I should have given into temptation because he came in at about 9:30 Thursday morn. I spent about 3 hours in the stand Friday morning but didn't have much luck. Just a couple spikes and a coyote, So this morning I climbed in the stand at about 6:15 and got all settled in.
It wasn't long before I had a couple spikes come in and about 20 minutes later 4 does bolted out of the timber in front of me headed down the hill with the spikes right behind! A coyote showed up about 30 seconds later and proceeded to snoop around for a couple minutes! After he head out I had no activity for about 2 hours and then once again I heard crashing through the timber off to my left. This time a yearling doe was crashing through the trees at full speed with that same stupid coyote about 40 yards behind. I don't know how it ended but hopefully she got away!!

I think I found a great place for some coyote hunting!!
At about 11:00 a couple turkeys found their way in and right behind them was a doe and fawn. Within about 2 min's another doe came down the trail and right behind her was this guy!! He quickly chased off the 2 does and stopped behind a tree at about 30 yards. At first I thought he might have seen me reaching for my bow because he just stayed there for about 5 minutes. He slowly worked his way out and came to about 25 yards quartering towards me. I have never taken a quartering towards shot and prefer broadside or quartering away so I opted not to take the shot. My gamble paid off as he turned and gave me a beautiful broadside shot at 23 yards. I waited to draw until he looked away and let the arrow fly!!
It was a beautiful double lung shot! He ran about 20 yards and stopped and stood there for about 30 seconds before tipping over!! I don't think it could have gone any better!!

I'm just glad I made a good shot and got a Great Buck!
