Just wondering if the guy claimed he shot the buck or if he had his pic taken with his tribal friend's buck and everyone thinks he shot it?  :dunno:

Prior to the photo coming out on facebook the whole town of republic was talking about the buck that this guy shot. The guys brother even told another person face to face that his brother shot this buck and had his buddy put a tribal tag on it. Once it surfaced on facebook the suspected shooter and his brother both got on FB and started bashing everyone for saying stuff. Never once did they say "I didn't shoot this deer" or "I was just posing with my buddy's buck".

There are a couple of guys up there with first hand information on who shot this buck. The problem is they wont say anything and with everyone not talking it makes it hard for WDFW to get to the bottom of it.

If this awesome buck was poached beyond a doubt, i hope the individual gets punished to the greatest extent

According to WDFW this isnt a question of poached or not poached they are stating Poached buck

They are stating it? well that changes everything! lol, look innocent until proven guilty. if the guy truly is guilty then i hope  they can prove it and the judge rules harshley.

Yep.  All the time.  I still have guys coming up to me occasionally that think I shot misc animals that I did not.

I don't think it is really up to them to state anything without proof. In fact that pisses me off.

That's a great buck, too bad about all the controversy surrounding it.  If it was shot illegally, too bad for the bowhunters chasing it.   :(
If he did, I hope they hit him to the full extent... >:(

All speculation and hearsay, all irrelevant to the alleged poaching. The short article didn't consist of Jack, if they even remotely had something they would be standing in this guys living room guaranteed. There's a reason why their inquiring and not pushing their way through a door. Curious to see how this turns out. :o

"IF" the guy is in fact guilty of the allegation. He's a real Frikn genius for throwing a buck like that up on FB. Might as well have driven down to the Game Dept and just showed them what he had done and put the cuffs on for them himself.

By the way. What's the statutes of limitation for smoking a 400 class Bull off the reserve? ;)

The hole that the guy and his brother dug on FB was pretty deep and damning.  That being said it takes more than that to get charges to stick.  Anyone with info should speak up.

Poaching is a hard crime to prosecute, without hard evidence or a witness to the crime to step up. Sometimes there is only witnesses but without them, this will be a hard case o bring up charges..will be interesting to see how this plays out?

It sounds like two guys need to get prosecuted for this if true. Why pass on the tribal member for offering up a tribal tag for it?

when humans joke around with comments..theres some truth to it..its way humans are..without flat out saying it ..
