Make sure you clear the work bench before "Shooting Your Bow"

OK, so last nite I was bored and needed to shoot some arrows. Dark when a guy gets home so no time to shoot until the weekend so sometimes I'll shoot at my Pacific Bow Butts target in my shop.
I had just picked up a new can of 'Carpenter In A Can'(expanding spray foam)for a little project. Put it on the workbench along with a million other things. Cleared out enough room for my target - which is pretty new by the way. Only had about 50 arrows into it so far and actually does stop my arrows well. Haven't shot thru it yet. Because of this, I didn't really worry about anything behind it.
That being said, my 4th shot sounded a bit different than the other 3. Walked up to the target and the last arrow penetrated pretty good. Thinking it might have gone thru, I looked behind the target before pulling any arrows.
Now what's the odds of hitting that EXPANDING CAN OF SPRAY FOAM dead center with all the other things I could have hit.
This is funny now, the day after, since most of it has set up and is not all over my workbench anymore. Cleans up much easier after it sets up. Those of you that have used this stuff know how it will stick to ANYTHING well and grow faster than you can move things away from it.
Well a few end wrenches, 4 boxes of shotgun shells for duck hunting, a foxtail brush, screwdriver and a spool of monofilament stopped most of it after pulling the arrow. It was hissing a bit with the arrow in it but it comes out fast with a hole on both sides, LOL.
Very short shooting session - 4 arrows. Went and played fetch w/dogs. Figured it was safer.

I had just moved too, so it landed on all that crap that hadn't been put away yet

crazy ....I just that stuff a lot ...my worst experience was the kids playing with it ...all over my driveway - in the bushes and on my siding

The Nightmare Continues: The next day I figured that darn foam would be all set up so I could clean up my mess. About a 2' dia mess on the work bench that scraped up real easy and a heaping mound rising out of my shop garbage can. I used a long bladed knife to get the foam loose from the garbage can but when I pulled it real hard, it came out with a bunch of the garbage with it. Including a big wad of monofilament line.
Unfortunately the mono was stuck in the foam that came out and also in the foam still adhered to the bottom of the can and a little "wet" foam in between that didn't set up probably because of not getting any air after the top of the can got sealed off. Whatever.
I proceeded outside to the big garbage can with the shop garbage can and the whole mess. I put my foot on the top edge of my steel 5gal can shop garbage can and pulled up real hard on the big ball of foam that was on top in hopes of the mono line ripping free. Nope. The nightmare continues. My boot(new Irish Setters)slips off the rim of the can and gets wedged in the bottom of the can with a good coat of liquid foam on it plus my jeans pant leg getting plenty on it too.
I've now got liquid foam on both hands with my boot stuck in the shop garbage can. My boot is not coming out even with me laying on the wet grass and pushing hard with my other boot. Finally I deformed the can by using my free leg and was able to get it out. what a mess to say the least.
Finally got the whole mess removed from my shop can and into the big can. That was over a week ago and I've still got foam on my left work boot.
Hopefully none of my neighbors saw me flopping around on the ground like that, LOL.

You shouldnt have shot it with  a 22 short if you didnt want a mess. lol  I have seen them shot a few times....

Don't put those cans of foam on your dash board with the defroster going either.  My grandfather found that out the hard way in 60 MPH traffic on I-5   He said it was one heck of a ride for about 10 seconds

I can half relate to that, I had my heater core go out at 60 on a bridge one time. Luckily it was late at night and almost no traffic, scared me though when the whole windshield went white and couldn't see a thing

A friend of mine put a can of fix a flat on the tunnel in the heat. He was in short box chevy extended cab with 4 adults in the front. Needless to say the can exploded. Went off like a whirly bird. It was 10 degrees outside so all of the windows were up. Picture 4 adults with a whole can of fix a flat as new hunting attire.

I'm laughing now but at the time it wasn't all that funny.
