Looks like one of the big ones in our area. Big body, with a nice but narrow and not very tall rack for the age. That's a big old deer, a real dandy!

Were you hunting private or public land?

Thanks for all the feed back! I will post more pictures on Monday when I have some more time. For now...

Teacherman: I rattled "blind" once at 9:30am...loud and quick. I waited for about 10 minutes and did it again. I saw a couple does about 5 minutes later and then my buck following the does. They were about 350 yards away and then disappeared into the trees. I thought, "Nothin to loose!" So I rattled again but softer. Five minutes later the buck appeared by himself on the edge of the field. That's when I shot him. No grunt or bleat calling.

I was on public land.

He is by far the biggest bodied deer I have ever shot...but I didn't get him on a scale.

Thanks again. More pics to come.

Oh, does anybody have any guesses on this deer's approximate age? I don't have any idea.

Thanks.

Nice buck, he has the body of 2 deer :yike:. If I were guessing I would say 6.5 years old.

Great looking Whittie. I have seen alot of big Whitetails between guiding and personal hunting, but that by far is probably the fattest i have ever seen. By a long shot. Great looking deer man, that is a buck to be proud of!

That is the FATTEST white tail I have ever seen taken out of WA. Congratulations. ;) That is also awesome that your son got to experience it as well.

Thats the new photography technique......rather than standing eight ft. behind the animal......just send in the kid. :chuckle:

If only that worked for the pack out.......just send in the kid.  Someday, right?

I would say 5.5 or 6.5 years old.  There are some big ones up there.
