Found this on page 107 of the Arizona Hunting Regulations:

Take/Hunt From A Vehicle
(A.R.S. 17-301 B, R12-4-319) Pages 110 and 129
No person may take wildlife from a motor vehicle
(including watercraft and aircraft), except
as permitted by Commission Order, and under
the provisions of the Challenged Hunter Access
Mobility Permit Commission Rule (R12-4-217).
“Take,” as defined by law, includes pursuing,
shooting, hunting and killing wildlife. You are
unlawfully using a vehicle to take wildlife if
you intentionally drive around until you see
the animal you wish to harvest and then make
an attempt to take. “Road hunting” is illegal;
so is pursuing wildlife with a vehicle, chasing
or heading off moving wildlife with a vehicle,
and driving off-road to get closer to wildlife.
You do not have to shoot from the vehicle to
be in violation.

I'm sure there are rules in every state that should be looked at.

Better yet, how about looking at a federal standard? Maybe see if the current administration would look at creating a standard that is the same for all States?

As soon as you get in your vehicle with the intent to go hunting you are in violation, idiotic.
Nearly very person that hunts has to drive to go hunting.

It is far too vague and makes us all criminals up to the descretion of LE.

If you are trying to stop "road hunting" then just put very clear definitions into the laws regarding shooting from roads like what is a road, how far from the centerline or shoulder one needs to be, etc.  We don't need new/more laws, we just need clearer ones that can't be interpreted however a warden/officer feels like interpreting it.

Yeah, lets volunteer to make it harder on ourselves and make MORE laws and rules....

Don't forget to include compound bows in general or any bow with a sight or release and of course, can't forget traditional style muzzle loaders only - no-inlines!

The best deterrent to so called "road hunting" is the high price of gas. At $4 a gallon I sure cannot afford to drive around all day looking for a legal animal next to the road.

Is that really a law in AZ.  Where is BeanCounter? 

I wouldn't want that law here.  What if you're just out sort of scouting for a new area after hunting for several hours in the morning?  You'd get written up for road hunting.  That is just a ridiculous law.
