My understanding is its ok on forest service roads if it's street legal.

Soooooooooo just a tiny off topic
If you are street legal. Than good to go on National forest roads? :dunno:

No. If you decide to ride in any NF in Washington, call and talk to the RANGER who runs that particular NF and ask. Each NF is ran by their own RANGER who decides if they will let ATV/ORV's ride in their own NF. Each one is different, so be warned you can get tickets big time.

If you are allowed to ride, make 100% positive you have your Drivers License, registration, current tabs, goggles and a big one, your HELMET and wear it, like it or not. That's the one that seems to get ticketed a lot. WDFW is big on not wearing helmets. I think it's a $124 for sure ticket.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

You are right Campmeat (my apologies)  no insurance needed in WA. I also learned that it is not needed on motorcycles either.  Could of sworn when I read the bill I saw a paragraph that said atv's would need comparable ins. coverage as auto's.
It sure is hard to believe the state will let cycles and quads on the road with no insurance. I am still going to get it though, heck I paid more for the Can Am than I did for my p/u when it was new.

No apologies needed. But thanks. I'm sorta savy on the ATV stuff since I'm involved with it. I won't post anything if I know it's wrong. I'll find out first for you guys.

You guys need to join all the ATV clubs near where you live. I belong to 3 of them. Let me know if you do. You can join a club for $25 a year for a family.

When I was at the meeting last night, 95% of all ATV owners were over 50. The clubs are fun. They have campouts, BBQ's, rides. you name it. I bet 95-100% are hunters and gun owners. They have Search & Rescue too.

They don't require insurance for motorcycles because very few accidents are caused by people riding motorcycles. Almost all accidents are caused by people driving passenger vehicles.
