We don't cout eye guards or brow tines here in the West.  Leave that to those East coast "hunters".  :chuckle:
Yes we do and so does the law   :chuckle:

I'f I'm looking at a deer....lets say it is a 5x5 with my 9x12x50 do I count the eye guards as a point? Also, if I do, is it an 8pt or a 4x4 with eye guards?

I'm so consfused.
Only if the deer has horns :chuckle:

lol. Bunched panties alert.  :yike:

OK, all joking aside, the OP makes a good point.  Using the correct terminology does indeed improve our understanding of technical topics.  For less experienced marksmen, this can be very important.  Think of all the technical topics that are often misunderstood (ballistics in ammunition, or the difference between horsepower and torque).

I herd about this topic when I was watching a heard of cows this morning.  They all had horns, all spikes. True spikes as a matter of fact.

I got something to get off my chest too. I cannot stand when people hold the steering wheel at 9 and 3 , I mean come on people it has been 10 and 2 since the dark ages. How hard can it be. I thought this would go well in the "pettiest rant possible" thread.   :chuckle:   :sry: carry on

I sense a new thread coming: commonly misused terms.

Were you watching them with your 3x9 scope?  :chuckle:

Hey!  Start a new thread for your petty rant about 10 and 2.  :chuckle: :chuckle:

I knew I'd take some heat for the rant.  But hey, I've bit my tongue for years regarding the topic and my tongue was really starting to hurt so I thought I'd mention it.

I'm glad everyone can have some fun with it. :)
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Just put another high capacity clip in your AR and bust him.

I got a kick out of it, when I opened it expecting something drastic! Pleasantly surprised! I am guilty of your pet peeve! Except even worse, for instance my binos are 10 x 42 x about 5 1/2" long.  :chuckle:

Thank you pd.  At least you understand.  I thought maybe the rant could benefit someone that had been using the terminology wrong.

And no pianoman9701, I'd have to be wearing panties to get them bunched.  Going commando today.
 :)

And for the record:  eye guards don't count, antlers not horns, and I may have seen a herd of bigfoots and heard a bigfoot...............and a 3x9 scope just doesn't let enough light in for my use.  :twocents:

When I run out of bullets in my automatic, I'm sticking in another clip to go after the heard of dear.

We had LOB (Legend Of Boom) last week, BPA (Bunched Panties Alert) this week.

What next? :yike:
