NY is "shooting" themselves in the foot with their anti business attitude, so much so that they are now realizing the impact and desperate to encourage business to move in, offering tax free business districts for new start ups.  Funny watching NY buy add space on Fox Network attempting to get businesses interested in NY...

I would beg to leave NY.

I don't think the NY Demos are too worried about losing businesses. They know they have a permanent spot reserved on the government teat. "Too big to fail." Bailout after bailout if necessary.

I get the point, but I would probably just leave it at that.  If true, it is a business decision of the Freedom Group, owned by Cerberus Capital Management.  I also wouldn't state that Remington agrees that conservatism entails extreme right-to-life or anti-gay sentiments.  That was a broad brush political smear by an idiot. 

Apparently, Remington and the Freedom Group have seen the writing on the wall and are taking Freedom where it is welcome.

It really says something about how far afield your state has gone to drive away the oldest company in the United States, which still makes its original product, and the oldest continuously operating manufacturer in North America.  Well done, NY.

I wonder how long Henry Rifles will be made in the Bronx...  Always surprised me that they were made there anyway, especially after Sandy flooded them out for a while.

And it seems that jobs will not be leaving NY, according to Cuomo.

Remington and its workers have been key voices in protests against the NY Safe Act, a series of stricter gun laws signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo 13 months ago. Last May, the company wrote on its Facebook pay that the military contract was not a sign that Remington had been paid off to stay in New York.

Still, the company made no promise to stay in Ilion.

"Remington will not run or abandon its loyal and hard working 1,300 employees without considerable thought and deliberation," the company wrote last May.

The new plant in Huntsville would be about half the size as the one in Ilion. Production would not begin before 2015.

NY may get it yet. There are many, especially upstaters, who are really upset with the new law. I wouldn't be too surprised to see some recall elections happening there very soon.

I had dinner with an upstater last night. He didn'think they had the balls to go door to door for guns. He echoed the fact that many of his friends an neighbors are mad as hell and not complying. It just another case whe a small location/city causes problems for a whole state. California,  washington are just a couple other states suffering in the same way

The anti-gunners will never give up, they want to get rid of all guns if they could. NRA and the other gun groups have it right, don't give up anything, the anti's only want more, you will never satisfy them.
