bushnell customer service
« on: February 18, 2014, 08:01:57 AM »
just thought id throw this out there.  my bushnell elite 6500 was having a problem with its vertical adjustment, so about one month ago i sent it back to the factory, just filled out their online form, printed it and stuffed it in box with the scope.  couldnt find my receipt, didnt know if that was going to be a problem.  had not heard from them yet, then UPS came yesterday and dropped off a brand new scope.  pretty cool, fast turnaround, no hassle, didnt even fix the old one, just sent a brand new one.  pretty happy.

I dealt with Bushnell after a bear ate one of my cams. They were great. Couldn't repair it but gave me $100 off a new cam and free box for it!

Just today I threw my Bushnell binocs in the trash. After calling them for a repair or replace, I was told the best they could do was 30% off retail from the Bushnell direct store. I could buy Bushnell products almost anywhere for more than 30% off their store prices. This was my fourth warranty repair issue with them. I am done with Bushnell.

I'm buying Vortex now and not looking back.

Sorry for the rant.

Cheers!

Easy-E-  which binos were they? I have the "Legends" and I believe the warranty is forever.

An older pair (but not that old) that is no longer in their product line. I can't remember the model. Since they couldn't honor the lifetime warranty on them they offered me the discount. The Lifetime warranty is apparently only honored for products they currently carry. That means to me that the lifetime warranty is the product lifetime as long as they carry it, not the lifetime that I own it; which I can understand. They can't keep parts and products around forever just in case somebody shows up with a lifetime warranty. What hacked me off was the lame 30% discount on their bloated online MSRPs. It added insult to injury. I called in for a warranty repair on a lifetime product  and my only option was to spend 70% of MSRP from their online store for a newer pair?!? C'mon. They could've offered a replacement with a similar product and I would've been happy with that. Sounds like others are having better luck with them than I did.
Cheers!

Did you specifically ask for a replacement on a similar product?

I did ask for a similar replacement. Best they could do was the 30% discount.
Cheers!
