I had some extra time so I thought I would take up taxidermy
« on: April 21, 2014, 05:30:53 PM »
I watched some youtube videos...
Read some books on line.

How hard could it be?  Come on....   I think I nailed the eyes

I thought the natural sitting position would be nice

The real tricky part about cats is getting the eyes just right and I have to say you nailed it brother.

My hunting partner makes that same face every time he turns loose a silent but deadly stank bomb :chuckle:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I really started to work on the legs...

You know when you see the natural leg position of an animal...

I'm told doing birds it tough.  Best to ease into your bird mounting after mastering cats!

If you have to ask you probably can't afford it.  You are talking about capturing a trophy for life.  As you can see from his work he is a true artist and you just can't put a price tag on that.

Hey Hunt, I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, Nature's Way had an add saying he was looking for some help around the shop.  I am sure if you show him some of this fine work you have been doing you guys would be able to work something out.

My neighbor lost her ugly dog.  She asked if I knew anyone that would mount him for her.  I asked how she wanted it mounted and she told me, "Acting natural".  Well she just sent me the pitchers...You nailed it!
