Hand File. If  I forget my file at home while out and about, I use a good size rock. Does the trick until I get home.

Hand file, coarse stone, fine stone, and the some wet stones up to 6000 grit. My axes will shave your arm

With my Worksharp Sharpener, Takes all over 5 minutes and will turn a rusty dull chipped edge blade into something sharp enough to shave paper. Ive done it numerous times.
