Bloodline bullets

How do you guys like the bloodline bullets and what grain of bullet should I use for deer and elk, gun is a 50 cal knight bighorn? Thanks

They are so tight in my Bighorn I gave up on them. They were extremely difficult to load.

They do load tight, there's an entire thread devoted to this very subject, its the only bullet I can shoot consistent groups out to 100 yards, Sabotloader can answer most any questions you might have

I shot a deer two years ago with a 250 gr bloodline and and elk last year with a 300gr bloodline, both put the animals down. I will say I am shooting them from a CVA elkhorn, and they seem to load little tight but they sure shoot nice.

It would be my suggestion if you wanted just one Bullet you might look at the .458-275 grain Bloodline.  For me it is the most 'universal' bullet.  Problem is the two bullets on either side of them are very good also.  The .452x250 and the .458x300.

And the rest of the family. The 300 grain bullet shown in this picture is incorrect, the bullet shown is a .458-305 grain bullet built for the 45-70 rifle.

Loading - all barrels are some what different but I have not had a real problem loading any of these in my different Knights.  The .452x250 grain would offer you a little more loading range since there several different selections of sabots with different thicknesses.

So just to clarify...these are .45 caliber bullets with a sabot, correct? Do they come with the sabots when you buy them? Go easy on me here, I'm a noob.

Yeah, they come w/sabots. I had better success shooting the .452 250gr vs the .458 300gr. The .458 were a real pain to load in my old Bighorn. They are good bullets though, shoot well.

They do come with sabots... the .452's (45 cal. bullet) come with a HPH-24 Sabot even though it is orange it is a HPH-24 sabot.

The .458's (a 45-70 class bullet) comes with a HPH-.457/.458 x 50 cal. Red sabot.  The same sabot from MMP is Orange.

It would be my belief that any of these would load well in a XR or DISC.  If any of them are to tight in these two rifles you could ease the problem with a routine of JB's Bore Paste.

I've taken three deer with the 300-grain Bloodline (red sabot) from my Knight Bighorn (.50 cal, 100 gr 777, musket caps), and the kills were amazingly quick.  Six petals peel away from the base of the bullet, each petal sharp and cutting their own wound channel.  In each case, there was a "halo" of small wounds from these petals around the central wound channel on the far side of the rib cage.  And I can't say there was a whole lot of meat loss, either!  I get excellent accuracy with the Bloodlines, as well.  I swab out my bore (one wet patch, two dry) between shots, and that eases the loading.  Highly recommended bullets!

I shoot a 275 grain bloodline, a bit tight to load but totally worth it, killed a deer at 150 yards and it ran 15 before it piled up.  My dad shot a cow 50 yards and it piled up in 20 yards. Outstanding performing bullet. I shoot 110 grains of 777 loose powder.
