Moose Bullets? Grand Slam VS. Nosler Part.

I drew my moose tag in Wyoming! So now all preparations are full throttle!
I found a sweet little Remington model 700 Classic in 350 Rem. Mag last year and have bought some 250 gr. NP and found a box of 50, 250 gr. Speer GS bullets which they no longer produce in .35 caliber. In my research I have yet to find out if there is much difference between these two bullets or if there is any?
Does anyone have any first hand experience with using either on big game like moose or elk?
The last bull I shot was with the Trophy Bonded Bear claw bullet. Worked perfectly in a .338 WM.

Flip a coin. You've already done the hard part: getting drawn.

Both will work just fine, and neither holds a significant edge performance wise. Pick the more accurate one.

Either bullet will work.  I'm a huge fan of 350 rem mag.   I would load up some of both and take the one that gives you better groups.  The newer partitions have never let me down.

I've shot a few elk with my 35 Whelen (same ballistics out of a different case) and never had an issue.  Partitions open up really well and are one of my favorite bullets.  Find a load your rifle likes and you should be set.  Congrats on the moose tag as well!

I have used the Grand Slams on elk and it did some damage!  They were much cheaper than the Partitions, so I decided to give them a shot.  Grouped nice and dropped the bull in his tracks. My partner uses them and he had no problem dropping his bull at 600 yards this year. 
 Only issue was that 1 of the bullets in the box had no lead in it.  I called Speer and they sent me a brand new box of 50 and let me keep the 49 I had.  I wish I could find more of them, but I haven't seen them in 338 for awhile.

I agree about the accuracy test. I may end up using the Grand Slams just because they don't make them any more. If this rifle does not like them I might change my mind.

I was a big fan of the GrandSlam before they made the change in construction.  Haven't shot or seen anything shot with them since so can't say about the new ones.  But the originals were fantastic!  All my guns loved them too!  I imagine in the .35 both bullets should be more than adequate.

I'm not sure how critical accuracy is on a moose hunt. Tight groups are great but bullet performance just might trump accuracy. However, as others have said, the Partition and Grand Slam should be close to equal in that regard.

I do know of at least two bull elk killed with 30 caliber Grand Slams, and they worked perfectly.

I've never had a single issue with partitions, and I've taken more than a couple trophies with them.

Shot a moose last year with a partition that was quartering hard away and put it right behind the rear rib and landed under the off shoulder. The moose didn't go 50yds. Shot my elk last year at 400+ yds with the partition  and again hammer time didn't really move.

I've seen np have issues at hi fps close range , with that 350 and a big animal they should do just fine .

The load I am working on will put either 250 gr. bullet at about 2,450-2,500 fps. Not high velocity but high energy. Shots could be long in some of the meadows but I like them under 200 yards. Should be hard to keep one of these bullets in the animal!
My back up rifle will be my .358 Win. loaded with 220 Gr. Speer Hot-Cor bullets at 2,325 fps. my wife will use this on a couple antelope does while we are there. I hope there are no trees near by when she hits them. We may have to cut a tree down to get them out!

I've only taken one deer with the partition (225gr out of a 338-06) and I don't have any complaints about how well that worked! Bang, Flop!

Same thing my grandfather would say.  After retirement he took moose in Canada every year instead of hunting Washington.  He would add to it with "Twice the size of an elk and one third as tough."  I think "Dumb as a post" was thrown in there once in a while too

Both are solid bullets. The Partition are what I would pack. I have killed a lot of animals from big to small with them and they have never let me down.
