DP solution for hunters/fishers.
« on: May 22, 2014, 04:00:05 PM »
I can hardly believe I hadn't thought of this before now. The WDFW wants and needs hunters and fishers to turn in harvest reports at the end of year or face a fine of $10 for not doing so when you go to renew your licenses the following year. Why not throw us a bone here? In lieu of threats and such provide all hunters and fishers; you know, your customers the ones who are buying your products and paying the bills; a free discover pass. Use that as the leverage to get the reports on game and wildlife back at the end of the year. If the report isn't turned in by the deadline date, then no free pass for you the following year. What's not to like eh.     Lets do this!

But we already get free access to WDFW lands. Why would DNR and State Parks go along with this idea? Those two agencies couldn't care less about us turning in harvest reports. I'm not saying I wouldn't like a free Discover pass. Just that I don't think it would ever happen.

I like the idea too but I'd have to agree w/Bobcat. No incentive for State Parks and the DNR unfortunately.

I'm thinking why would they give you a $30 pass when they can give you a $99 ticket and a $10 fine  :dunno:

Right now they get the $35 for the pass + $10 per each harvest report not turned in. They'd be losing some hard stolen revenue from us Honest Joes.

How bout you turn in your harvest report, DON'T buy the  DP and tell them to cram it!

The DP is DESIGNED to stroke hunters(mostly) & Anglers to pay for parks. If you use State parks BUY a DP you should do so to support the resource you use. If not boycott state land and tell them to make parks a spending priority if its so damn important.
