« on: July 11, 2014, 08:59:15 AM »
,,,Here we come  :IBCOOL:  In roughly 2hrs, 10 minutes and 55 seconds, (but who is watch the clock) I'm leaving work and heading for the coast  :IBCOOL: for 3 day of fishing, crabbing, camping, fishing, crabbing, beach walking, fishing, crabbing, loking at the shops, fishing, crabbing, celabrating Quick Draws birthday, and oh yeah, did I mention that we are going to a little fishing, and crabbing  :IBCOOL:

Buckhorn2 I'll call ya after we get the camp set up. YES THE TACKLE BOXES ARE IN THE BOAT   Damn near forgot the crab pot though  :yike:

Just and FYI, make sure you have all the groceries you'll need for your trip BEFORE you hit Westport because they don't have a grocery store there anymore.

My sister and her bf went out this morning and they told me there was a decent king bite early but it didn't last long and after that it was a coho only day.  At least for them that's how the day went.  They were trolling cut plug herring and were in 50-80ft of water up in front of the Casino.

And. The boat launch was insane..... at 6:30 this morning, the line to launch your boat was out past the Hungry Whale, to the air port and pizza place    :yike:

Hunterman woke JP late and had to sit that crap waiting to launch  :chuckle: :chuckle:

But they did end up with 2 nice kings for the three of them today  :tuoh,

and the sheriff was at the boat launch on the return checking for all safety equipment and willingly writing tickets.... lots of pisssssed of people.... :chuckle:

Every year they pull that *censored* when the boats are thick and they have a couple coast Guard guys a couple sheriffs and even the wdfw what a way to make some money it makes everyone mad an estimated oiver 200 boats trying to get out of the water and them holding everyone up and if the wore worried about safety they would check before you go out not after.

I fished the north beach today too. We got our kings and lost a couple coho at the boat and called it an early day. It was weird coming onto the bar and having the water flatten out like that.

We did pretty good out there as well.  Got all our kings 15, 22, and 26.  Turned back a bunch more trying to get our cohos, but only managed one.  Lost a rod and reel with a fish on the end.  Had fish on and removed the rod from the holder.  Fish took off before I had a good grip on the rod and bye bye Loomis and Tekota 500..  Deep 6, fish flash, and herring anywhere from 20-45 feet.  Orange flasher did best by far.
