Not Real Familiar With The Area, So Should I Bother Scouting It.  Anyone Know How Much Of The Unit Burned Up?

I'm not sure how much of if was burned. It shouldn't be a problem finding a doe next to a road, but I would definitely go over and drive the roads so you have a good idea of where to go or not go. The roads can be treacherous in the late season. Good luck.

You shouldn't need to go scouting. You will see does on every road you drive.

The entiat has not burned this year...yet.  No scouting is required for a doe.  If you can't find a doe (or 100) that time of year / per day, you are blind  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

The entiat hunting area has not really been touched by fire it was mainly the swakane.  the only reason would be to find a camping spot and drive roads the deer that time of year are all migrating down so what you see now will be local deer lower behind orchards mainly.  Just find a good trail sit and wait that time of year let one come to you and enjoy watching the big guys.  Although that all depends on what the weather does.
In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsman. FDR

That Was My Next Question.  Whenever To Camp With A Trailer?  Don't Need Hookups.

If the snow is not too bad mud creek has some nice camp spots and you could hunt from your camper.  Unless you are looking for a long camping trip you shouldn't have to camp long.

There is also some nice spots to camp on patato creek, and usually a bunch of does.
I don't always shoot big mule deer, but when I do, it's with a bow tech!

Personally, I don't think I'd scout for a doe.

No, atv's are not allowed in the Entiat. I also agree that Mud Creek would be a good place to camp. You should not have a problem filling your doe tag the first morning if you choose to do so.

If your going to camp, Potato creek is your best choice

about 200 yards off the pavement, there is a left turn in to a flat area that is great access for any trailer and you don't have to worry about the weather either, great place to camp.

Personally, if I had a doe tag, I would just get a cheap hotel room in Wenatchee and drive up there to shoot a doe. There not hard to find and should not have  problem filling it. I live in Tacoma, and it would be cheaper to get a room in Wenatchee, then drive my truck up there with my camper or a trailer.

I don't know what the guys are talking about when they suggest taking a doe is easy. I wouldn't shoot a doe with a fawn.If its a yearling then go ahead but in my few doe permits it wasn't a slam dunk taking one as there were lots that had fawns.I counted 70 does and fawn pairs one year before I got one and it turned out she was pregnant.I really think we should stop mule deer doe hunting till their #'s are back to what they were 40 years ago. With the bow hunters taking many and the permit hunters killing more, wolves, bears and cats #'s increasing, I don't think our mule deer are going to recover.

This Is A Late Season Hunt So The Fawns Should Be Good On Their Own By Then.  I Am Not A Fan Do Shooting A Doe With Dawn In Early Season.
