Bobcat, your hunt starts Nov 1 correct? If so, they're going to be rutting and fighting still. When I harvested mine the last week of oct a few years ago they were in the middle of rutting and man, it was awesome listening to the headbutt, the cracking and bashing echoed all day throughout the canyons while I was searching for the one. I have pics of 3 rams I settled on for the afternoon and the bigger 1 i passed on for the uniqueness of mine. Like coach said find the 1 you like and you'll be happy. I walked in from the bottom and packed out downhill which wasn't fun and I also suggest a pack partner for safety. Best of luck.

Don't get caught up in score . find a ram that looks go to you and take him . the sheep in that area are good representatives of cali big horns but not giants . enjoy the hunt and seeing them . I'm sure if I'd have put days into my hunt I could have found a ram that scored a little better , may be days per inch . I really felt this ram was of age class and was a good ram to take off the mountain. now I'm able to focus more time on these little deer Karl has found .....

Hmmm and we passed up a 8x9 bull because his score!!

My hunt starts Nov. 5th, and they should be rutting still, from what I've been told. Score doesn't concern me at all. The only reason I asked about it is that it's a good way to get an idea of the actual size of a ram that you only see in a picture.

I don't enough about sheep to know what they score or what is a good sheep.    I have stopped and glassed them on Canyon Road but have no idea what they would score.  If I ever get drawn I am just going to shoot the one that I think looks the best to me.

Well, from comparisons of my own and all the ones I could find on-line I'm comfortable enough to say if it curls above the top of the jaw its in the 160's range. Good luck and shoot straight. Study them thoroughly front, back and sideways because different angles can be tricky. It may look big from behind but then it turns, or sideways, you get the idea.

    you didn't say nothing about strippers!!!!!! Glad I got a good staff because I'm calling in for work to find a giant deer and drag it to you kicking and screaming Corey!!!! It's serious face game time now.....

I would be getting nervous about some of the big ones that showed up today on the 2014 bucks thread. There is some pretty good bone hitting the ground, that one from Kittitas was a dandy and right in your permit area.
