I use 777ffg loose powder. I have never had one misfire or hangfire ever. Musket caps or #11. Every shot ive ever shot with this has felt like a centerfire rifle. I see no need for pellets. I use speed loaders with measured charges in them and they load just as quickly as pellets, and fire more reliably. Great, now my gun is going to mifire when I shoot at my deer this year.
I have been using older style cci muskets if those are the new ones I might have to change

Go and buy the German musket caps....problem #1 solved. Go buy loose powder too....problem #2 solved. Pyrodex works really well for me.
