Cool Vids! Thanks for sharing. I've pulled a crab pot with a dogfish lodged in the side before. Its pretty cool to see all the other fishes that come into the pot as well.

I used to catch dogfish by the thousands a couple years ago.I've had dogfish in my crab pots, follow flounder to the boat. One time I got bit by a dogfish fishin and it left a good scar on me and I tell everybody I got bit by a shark.

That's a great video! I use the pots and acually had a dogfish in my pot when I pulled it. It's head was wedged in the side when it tried to swim out. I'd post a pic of it if I could figure out how.

I had a headless one in a crab pot at Westport once, popped out a bunch of babies in my boat.   :o

Cool video, might want to put a weight on the bottom of that gate though.  Do you catch more crabs with the LEDs?  My brother in WI wanted me to do an experiment  to see if a light in the pot would catch more crabs.  He is a Dumb A...... so I'm not doing it.  I've put sixty or so on my card this summer and don't need to add the headache of a light, but I am curious.

It's interesting that you can hear your motor as you return to the pot.

Nice video! I'd like to used one to see the dang sea lion in action stealing bait. We had a dog fish moving our rings around as well. Had him close to the surface once, but swam off just in time.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Awesome video, definitely getting a GoPro now, and evaluating the gates on the crab traps.  Any suggestions?

Well, the gate being open is pretty rare, you can see the crab actually pushed it open... some traps have a piece of 'pipe' to hold the doors in place, which would make this impossible.  Ive put the gopro down 5 times now, and that was the only time Ive seen it happen.

Cool video.  Has anyone tried to somehow spring load the doors?  I've been ciphering on that and how to weight them down too.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice
