Best part about these threads is a look into such a hunt...

Second best part is to actually see and believe that such a tag exists!

I was going to keep this completely on the down low but reading everyone's stories reminded me what makes this site great and keeps me coming back.  Thanks Bone, Coach and you other guys for getting us all fired so I will do my best to contribute.

Yes, I drew another raffle tag (moose) and will share if I don't have to listen to the peanut gallery.......heading out this weekend for 5-6 days.

 :yike:

You.... You drew another raffle?!!!!!!!  :yike:

What in the world is your secret?!!!
Are you the guy that pulls the tickets out of the hat or did you sell your soul to the devil to be that lucky?

Tell me what I have to do!

In all honesty congrats man. I hope you get a monster

Week 1 in the books.  Had a freakin blast.  I can't believe how fearless or stupid these animals are but once they start coming to calls they don't stop.  It's almost like they are in a drunken frenzy or some sort of daze and don't stop until you wake them up or get real loud.  It get's the heart pounding when you can't see them but know a bull is coming through the thicket thrashing trees and going to pop out 20-30 yds in front of you.

It also doesn't let you take many pics because you're on your shooting sticks just in case......

I probably saw 8-12 moose per day (half being bulls) so somewhere in the 60-80 range for the week.  Obviously some bigger ones but didn't have a camera to get good photos.   Early on in the week, I probably wasted too much time calling in bulls I wasn't going to shoot but it was so much fun watching them come from 300 yds right up to you I couldn't resist.

Here are some cell phone pics so must of them are inside 20 yds......A few started to come closer and weren't stopping so I got the hell out of there.

About ran this guy over...........

Somebody asked me one time about using cow moose piss (cow in heat) attractant.   I think I would only buy that to put on either a good friend as a practical joke, or an enemy. :chuckle:    Once they get their mind set that they are in love.   You better have an escape plan :chuckle:

The other thing I love is you are never sure of what is going to come out of the thick because even the smallest bull can sound like a Sherman tank.   FUN STUFF!

Big Paddles and great tine length.....not real wide and a single brow tine.  He was about 60 yds away and we were in a 10 minute stare down because he had a cow with him.
