Map????
« on: September 23, 2014, 01:10:31 PM »
Just wondering where I can go in Spokane to get a print out of Google Earth?  ( the area we hunt )

So when my hunting partners and I are back at camp it will be easy to explain where we are going or where we where.

Thanks Nape

Cabelas used to have and may still have a map printing program that printed on tyvek.  You may want to give them a call.

Just out of curiosity, did you have any luck with Cabela's.  If so which Cabela's has it?

Thanks Bone, sure would be nice if they had them at all their locations.  I went to the Tulalip store a few days ago and they didnt have much as far as maps go.

For images of Google Earth I just do a print screen of the section I want and print it out at home. Sometimes I have saved them to a SD card and taken them to Walmart or Walgreens and printed them out on 8x10.

Thats what I have been doing but the printer I have definitely is not very high res.  So image quality can be a little
difficult do deal with.  I never though about printing at walgreens though...what a great idea.

You can also go to Staples and print out 8"x10" or 11"x17". If you wanted a large map they have a plotter too that would print the larger sizes (poster size).

Are these just satellite maps or will they have roads and prominent landmarks labeled?

Thanks.

I have been using Google Earth Sat. images as well as the Topo overlay.  They dont have extreme detail but enough to be passable IMO.  Especially if you can get 'em printed with a high res printer.  I wasnt aware Staples had that ability either.  Guess I need to get out more.
