I don't think there really is a bad brand of DB, but I do love my buddy's Clacka with the tunnel hull, except I almost fell out of it this summer.  :chuckle:

pick your poison with driftboats...clack makes a great flyfishing boat...alumaweld makes a great boat for pulling plugs and general use. i wouldn't run a fiberglass boat anywhere you run the risk of hitting rocks hard...fiberglass will break...aluminum will bend...aluminum's a lot noisier than glass, but a lot lighter....

i have a lavro...love it, but would much rather have a different boat...with more storage and more options. mine's pert near a bare boat with seats...no frills, but it works and we've done 2 day trips out of it on the yak.

The clack will slide right over rocks with its flexible bottom where as an aluminum boat would just get stuck. My buddy can fish a certain river when it is too low for an aluminum boat cause his boat just bounces/slides over the rocks. Obviously they both have their pros and cons, but I'm pretty sold on the Clack after fishing out of it a few times this summer.

I have a friend with a very nice glass drift boat that has been thinking about selling it, I can check if he was serious if you like.
