What's it worth?? Gunnut help appreciated
« on: November 10, 2014, 08:29:48 PM »
I have an old 30-06 that was my gun in high school. The stock is in bad shape so it's more of just a barreled action in 30-06. Made by Wards Western Field model EJN-757 it is a Mauser action and stamped made in Belgium.

hows the finish?  how many rounds?  bore condition?  Barreled mauser actions can be $100-$400.  Belgium made helps, but condition is everything.  I imagine it's an FN action, which without the barrel I'd probably pay $200 for a C-ring, $175 for an H-ring (where the barrel mates to the receiver) if it's in very nice condition.  If it needs to be surface ground and reblued, $125.

It is  pretty good condition. No rust and only a little wear around the crown. I’m interested in getting rid of it to help fund my new predator rifle.

Its worth as much as someone is willing to pay.  Gotta put it up for sale first. Good luck!

Thats the plan but needed a starting point that was fair.

start at $300 and see if you get any hits.  Might try accuratereloading.com, too.  A lot of guns move trough that website

Like a JC Higgins model 50.  Does it resemble the rifle pictured below?:
