Want to buy a new budget rifle.
« on: November 23, 2014, 12:26:23 PM »
I was thinking of buying a new Remington 783 in 30-06. It comes with a free floated barrel, cross fire adjustable trigger, and pillar bedded stock. Does anyone have anything bad to say about these rifles? I heard they are SUPER ACCURATE, and for the price of under $400.00 a terrific value. Am I wrong to want to buy this rifle from Remington. Anyone who has shot or owns this please let me know your opinions of this particular firearm. Thank you all.

Dunno about the Remington but I would look into the Ruger Americans. I have shot those and they are a pretty darn good gun especially for the price.

Savage Axis XP.  $299 brand new, known to shoot MOA or better.  5min spring swap and you have a 3.5# trigger.  Can also buy a boyds stock for it if you are not fond of poly stock guns.
